A view from Dead Indian Pass on route 296 north of Cody, Wyoming. This is the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway. Traffic on this road was busier than usual because the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park was closed due to wildfires. That meant that several travelers diverted to the northeast entrance to Yellowstone via the Chief Joseph route.
