ColdwaterLake

Coldwater Lake is a few miles north of Mount St. Helens. The ridge to the right directed most of the eruption blast down the Toutle River valley to the (out of frame to the right). However, all of the forest in this region was leveled. The sides of the ridges that faced the mountain endured more damage than the sides facing away from the mounting. Note the difference in vegitation on the ridge to the right versus the ridge in the distance at the far end of the lake.
